SPACE PROPULSION PRESENTATION

SUMMARY:

The goal of this assignment was for us students interested in the astronautical side of aerospace engineering to take the initiave to inform ourselves and others in the class about various space propulsion methods - consisting of actually employed methods as well as those that are relatively more conceptual - and how they function as well as their respective advantages and disadvantages. ​

REFLECTION:

Learning:

A horrible coincidence occurred and I had to work with the same incompetent partner I had for the Helicopters 1944 Presentation. I took it as a chance to test if I could convince him to somehow put in more work this time, but I failed and as a result, I ended up doing essentially the entire project on my own. I talked to my aerospace teacher about it to identify where I might have fallen short in my communication abilities and about the unequal amount of effort that I and my partner put into our presentation, and he informed me that I was not in the wrong for my frustration, and that my partner would not be receiving a perfect score like I did on the assignment. I took this as an opportunity for learning where I realized that it is not worth investing effort into people who aren't willing to improve themselves or contribute to a collective task. ​

Improvements:

While I realized that it was not due to my own inability that my partner was so incapable at accomplishing tasks, I still felt frustrated at my own lack of patience and inability to encourage the individual working with me to put forth their best effort, just as I did. I know for a fact that I need to hone my patience so I will never struggle with achieving what I want in regards to interpersonal relations in my future profession.
