ROCKET PERFORMANCE AND ANALYSIS

SUMMARY:

In this project, we had to assemble a relatively small model rocket from a pre-made kit in a manner that would allow it to reach its greatest height, by utilizing an online model rocket building software called RockSim and other studies informing us on how a rocket works.​

REFLECTION:

Learning:

I had a lot of fun with this project, since I enjoy learning about spacecraft and the launch vehicles that take them past Earth's atmosphere. I learned a lot about the various intricacies about how aerospace engineers have to account for when launching a rocket, such as the engine type and propulsion power, the aerodynamic design of the rocket, the capacity for the spacecraft, the necessary fuel quantity, etc. 

Improvements:

Thanks to my experience with model rockets due to my participation in The American Rocketry Competition, it was very simple for me to take the lead with the development and creation of my model rocket. I am proud to state that my model rocket was one of the 2-3 rockets that reached the highest altitudes in all aerospace engineering classes. The only improvement that I feel like I could expand on is the quality of my motor skills, so that I can be as precise as a surgeon when working on creating hands-on projects in college.
