Spring break was a welcomed break from the hectic schedule. I was moving forward with my final product in tandem with typical school work and extracurricular activities. I got to enjoy myself a bit, collect myself, and prepare for the storm that approaches. Since I had a lot more time to myself and the ability to shift my schedule however I pleased, I was able to conclude my research on Mars and past space capsules, which I hope to incorporate and add into my original work in a manner that is visually appealing and comprehensible for those seeking to learn about the future of aerospace engineering or even those seeking a background towards perceiving the significance of Perseverance’s landing on Mars. In addition to the research that I wrapped up over break, I also began designing the basic frames that I wanted to use as the starting point for my spacecraft, which is where the research I conducted previously on spacecraft design came in handy. Since most current spacecraft are based off of preexisting designs that were proven to succeed in fulfilling their objectives, I tried to mimic the basic designs of certain manned spacecraft, such as Dragon V1, Progress M1, Shenzhou, and Orion. Since I can do most of my current work on my final product by myself, meetings with Daniel at the moment usually consist of discussions involving structural analysis, Daniel’s past experiences and advice for me going forward into college, and random thoughts that pop up in my head while I am working on my final product. As we approach the portions of my final project which I lack experience with (the testing phase) Daniel is likely to play a much more crucial role in shaping my work. A major portfolio update is inbound sometime this week with the work I have done in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Design and Development at the Career and Technical Education Center, so be looking forward to it!
