It has been a while since I have last updated my blog, but I have made significant strides towards my ambition over the last few weeks of December and the first week of January. The hours of effort I poured into seeking out a mentor that was employed in my field of interest finally paid off! I would like to thank Daniel Munden for enhancing my experience in the Independent Study and Mentorship program. I have mentioned it repeatedly in some of my blog posts in the past, but I truly was worried about finding a mentor employed in aerospace engineering in a discipline that I was interested in prior to entering the ISM program. To have someone as experienced as Daniel watching over the growth of my passion for aerospace engineering immensely comforts me and keeps me looking forward to learning more how to conquer the final frontier. I am thrilled to see how Daniel’s mentorship transforms my perspective of the field of aerospace engineering and the final product I create. Speaking of my final product, I have an idea of what I want to do and have already taken the first few steps towards producing it! Looking back on 2020 holistically, I feel proud of the progress I have made. Despite COVID-19 defying my expectations of what my last year in high school would look like and completely transforming the reality of my experience in the ISM program, I feel that I have made significant strides towards understanding the broad field of aerospace engineering. In terms of my shortcomings, I know that I was not as active with my passion as I wished to be, and that was largely due to my unpolished time management skills. I think that I can make 2021 a fulfilling year if I pay more attention to how I take care of myself and my time. From here on out I want to expand my horizons so that I can see beyond my passion. I want to become someone who has experienced more than what I love to do and hopefully perceive the future I hope to have. Here’s to a good new year!
